Artist Statement
I have never lived far from the coast.
The sea, salt marshes, the tides, the rock walls, meadows and the creatures that live here always influence my life and my work.
I set out to create an impression or feeling in my work. With some thought and lots of intuition I let the choice of materials influence me creating new possibilities and direction. There is a sense of mystery and questioning in each piece. Risk taking is a big part of the process and I’m often surprised with the choices I make and the results.
I am grateful for the influence of where I live. It is what inspires and excites me.
