A juxtaposition of materials and subjects

This is such a wonderful category because just about anything goes! I love to be surprised by the juxtaposition of materials and subjects. I often use birch panels for this medium because I can use the hard surface to scratch and dig and make marks in many different ways.

I also use paper, ink, paint, cloth, found objects and photographs to create unusual combinations and statements.  The results are often surprising  and unintended.
